His books Mongrel Country (2001), Outback Mongrel (2003) and Little Mongrels (2005), published in Australia and the United States, were bestselling titles and his work received international recognition.

David forth book is his first self publication. "A Little Help for our Friends" (2009) a tribute to his latest assigment. "Last year I embarked on my most significant photographic assignment to date — to document the field work of the volunteer veterinary organisation Vets Beyond Borders in India, which took me across boundaries both personal and professional. The assignment challenged my views, broke my heart and opened my eyes to a world that I knew very little about — the world of the street dog. This book is dedicated to those dogs" DD.

David has traveled extensively through-out Australia and parts of the world for the past nine years searching out dogs for his unique style of photography. He has worked on photographic assignments in Australia, Cambodia, China, England, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan and the United States.

"My inspiration for photographing dogs is borne from the bond I share with our four-legged friends, my passion for photography and a desire to portray dogs in a respectful manner (the way most of us know and remember our mates) without silly props and gimmicks." DD.

David’s work appears in newspapers, magazines, calendars, books, cards, advertising posters and billboards both nationally and internationally and David and his beloved dogs have featured on several television programs. His limited edition photographs are in private collections worldwide.
